Development of Intelligent Pest Management

Koppert Biological Systems provides solutions for natural pollination and for the natural control of diseases and pests.

Project key: cloud platform, smartphone apps, portal, data analysis

We developed for Koppert a comprehensive solution for scout-management and control advice. Using a specially developed smartphone app, observations – specified per client – are recorded on the basis of GPS-location. The so-called scout-process works for open-field as well as for indoor cultivation. Which observations are identified varies per client. After scouting, the observations are uploaded to the Koppert cloud-platform. The data are further processed and analysed there.

For the users, we developed a web dashboard that gives an indication of where the centre of diseases and pests is located. Graphics and reports are used to provide a simple indication of the course of the infestation.

Alongside the scouting, also biological, chemical and plant treatments are established.
